They may be purchased at club meetings and are offered at cost to members and non-members in a dazzling array of 14 color choices in both non-pilling 100% cotton ($29) and cotton/poly blend ($25). Let’s escape the heat in the Valley.  Join us for this popular hike to Horton Creek.  We will do the loop hike, hiking up the Derrick and Highline trails to Horton Spring and then returning to the trailhead on the Horton Creek Trail.  There should still be water at the spring.  We will have lunch by the spring, relax before heading back.  Spring and waterfalls along the way. Have your camera ready as we take in the beautiful scenery.  We will not rush down the hill unless it is raining or hailing! 

Bring sunscreen, plenty of water, lunch, snacks, camera and $ for carpool.  No dogs or children please.

Meet at 6:30 am (depart at 6:45) at the Beverly Canyon Trailhead on South 46th Street.  From I-10, turn west on Baseline Road and drive 0.9 miles to 46th Street. Turn south on 46th Street and drive 0.2 miles to the end of the road where there are two trailhead parking lots. 

We’ll hike west along the ridgeline above Javelina Canyon and return below on the Javelina Canyon Trail.  We’ll enjoy a good morning workout with lots of elevation gain, keeping an easy or medium pace, and we'll finish before 9 am.

Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. Only guests and new members need to contact the hike leader prior to the hike.

Meet at 7:00 am (depart 7:15) at the Park-and-Ride at the southwest corner of the Bell Road exit to I-17. 

This is one of the best trails in Sedona.  It offers sensational views of Sedona itself, and most of the famous red rock landmarks in the area.  It’s called “Hangover Trail” because, at places, it does literally hang over Bear Wallow Canyon, though none of the exposures is too frightening.  (For those wishing a little more exposure, there’s a short, steep and optional ascent to the arches atop Mitten Ridge.)  We’ll start at the base of Schnebly Road Hill, hike up Munds Wagon Trail to Cow Pies, then loop around Mitten Ridge on the Hangover Trail back to Munds Wagon. 

Wear sturdy hiking boots and bring plenty of water.  The leader will be hiking with his dog (on leash), so feel free to bring yours.
